- Project suspended
Having had no time to do anything with the project in the last year,
I'm switching off the scheduler. It's been a learning experience, but
now I'm finding it more efficient to wait for local machines to finish
jobs than putting in the considerable effort required to keep a BOINC
project running.
Thanks for everyon'e help with setting up and testing out the project.
It may make a comeback one day...
list fairly quickly after returning from Canada. The first expedition
to Borneo did not go quite as well as we had hoped, and I have just
returned from a second trip out there this year as part of the same
project.
Although I will be in the UK for some time (the next trip isn't
scheduled until October now), I cannot promise that the project will
immediately begin churning out work. There is a lot of other work to
catch up on, so I will do my best, but no more.
As always, we appreciate your help here, but I'd like to draw
everyone's attention to the FAQ again as an explanation for the low
work rate at the moment.
temperature is currently -20 degrees Centigrade, and the project
is very busy. No forest here, and still no useful work to be done
by APS. After 6 days back in the UK in late March, I'll be in Borneo
so there should be work to do then, provided I can get the application
problems sorted out before leaving. It'll be a satellite link from
there as well, so that's quite important.
More news when I have it. Thanks for standing by...

Unfortunately more patience is the order of the day. Solving the
problems with the OS X versions of the last application release is
proving more time consuming than I'd expected. Also, commitments
in Canada and Borneo until May are due to begin within days.
Please feel free to contact me through the message boards or by
E-mail about anything you think I may have missed. In the meantime,
happy crunching on your other projects, and I'll be back here as
soon as possible.
married on Saturday. So I'm, er, a little busy.
Thanks for your patience. If there are any problems in the meantime,
it's probably a good idea to E-mail me directly.
